Prof. KC Santosh , Chair of Computer Science at USD and founder of its Applied AI Research Lab, has led USD to become a leader in AI education in South Dakota, increasing graduate AI program enrolment by over 3,000% in four years. He has secured more than $8 million in research funding and published over 250 articles, with 10 books to his name. Prof. Santosh collaborates across disciplines, establishing AI initiatives with departments like Biology and Business Analytics. Recognized with awards like the Visionary Leadership Award (2023), he recently joined NIST's AI Safety Institute Consortium.
